 Vitamin A products
« Result #1 Yesterday at 4:51pm »

Hello John

I am Didi from Lise's board. I am checking out your website and I am about to place an order with you. Before I finalize my order, I would like to know if you carry any type of vitamin A products. I did not see anything listed, but then I am known to overlook things. Can you please let me know before I place my order ? Thanks for the help and happy holidays

PayPal email MUST be used in the shopping cart
« Result #3 on Dec 7, 2009, 1:44am »

I've just fallen victim to another bizarre scam.

Here is the saga:

A customer placed an order.

She replied to the confirmation email, stating that there was an error with the shipping address.

I changed the shipping address.

Two weeks later the customer emailed me complaining that: she had not received any email notifications, that she had not received her order, and that (I quote her here) " I am a big scammer".

I sent her a copy of the tracking number and the email where she asked for the address change.

Well, all hell broke lose. First she accused me of being an even "bigger scammer", then she claimed that I sent the notifications to the wrong email address.

When I explained that this is impossible, because all the emails are sent out automatically to the email address the customer enters in the shopping cart, she quickly created another profile with her correct email.

I caught her out on that by doing a search for her order using her order number and when I presented her with the data the truth finally came out.

The customer had made an error, she forgot to add a number in her email address. So, the emails were sent to another person with the same name and nearly identical email. This person took advantage of all this and now has 4 bags of NaH ( I hope she knows what to do with it).

Now, usually I am pretty quick to give out refunds or mail out products if I made an error.

But, what really annoyed me is not just the stupidity of this person (we all made mistakes), but the abusive tone she took in her emails, the endless threats she made, and the fact that she tried to cover up HER error by creating another profile.

It took a lot of emails before she finally calmed down enough to start reading the logic of my reasoning, and I got a semi-apology.

At this stage I gave her the refund, just to get rid of this headache.

So, if you are still reading this...

Now you know why you must enter your PayPal email address in the shopping cart and why I will check EVERY order manually to make sure this is done correctly.

If there is an error, I will cut-and-paste your PayPal email from the PayPal receipt and update your order record.

Regards,
John

I have just written a blog post about dissolving Ferulic acid, it also applies to other actives that require alcohol (non-denatured ethanol), you can read more here: http://bulkactives.com/blog/index.php/20....atured-alcohol/

I have just written a blog post about solvents for Ferulic acid, you can read it here: http://bulkactives.com/blog/index.php/20....atured-alcohol/

Non-denatured ethanol is an easily available product and it is a very good solvent for Ferulic acid.

We do not sell Optiphen, but we DO sell:

Euxyl® K 300 ( http://www.bulkactives.com/euxylk300.htm )

and

Euxyl PE 9010 ( http://www.bulkactives.com/euxylpe9010.htm ).

Both are suitable in acidic products.

The Euxyl PE 9010 contains phenoxyethanol + ethylhexylglycerin.

Phenoxyethanol is the preservative used by Pinnell, and it is sold with the brand name Optiphen.

The ethylhexylglycerin in the Euxyl PE 9010 improves the preservative activity of phenoxyethanol.

I agree that you have be careful with making home peels. I personally use a 5% BHA toner for blackheads on my nose.

It works really well, especially when I follow it with a gentle surfactant and olive oil facial wash, but I would not go any higher than 5% BHA.

I like using non-denatured ethanol as my main solvent, more here: http://bulkactives.com/blog/index.php/20....atured-alcohol/

Hi,

There are some limitations with the shopping cart, but it does work.

Don't worry about getting into your bulkactives account.

Just place your order in our shopping cart, and go to paypal.

You will then receive a new BulkActives account name and password.

Hi,

Yes, you are right, 'kit' is misleading, I will change that to 'combo.'

As for the ingredients:

The only things you need to buy is a solvent (Ethnaol or propylene glycol - I use ethanol, some people use EverClear if it is available in their state), and Vitamin E.

We do not sell Vitamin E, because it has a poor shelf life. It is also easy to buy the right Vit E caps from any Vitamin shop ( I use the NOW foods Gamma E - mixed tocopherols and tocotrienols).

The Idebenone and Dimethyl Isosorbide are ingredients that can also be used, for a more authentic recipe look here: http://www.bulkactives.com/formulations/ceferulic1.htm

 C+Ferulic kit
« Result #14 on Nov 9, 2009, 7:31pm »

I am wanting to make my first purchase with you guys so I can make a Vit C + Ferulic + E cream. When I see "kit" I think that has everything I need, but the recipe suggests I need to buy more ingredients.

Is everything in the kit that I need, or do I need to buy the items in the recipe too? I don't want to buy a "kit" then realize I need to place another order before I can make my cream.

Thanks.

Sorry, I have not used aloe as a solvent, I still prefer non-denatured ethanol ( http://bulkactives.com/blog/index.php/20....atured-alcohol/ )

Aloe-based BHA; can PG/alcohol be heated
« Result #16 on Nov 6, 2009, 12:11am »

I have been trying to minimize alcohol in my 2% salicylic acid solution (my most recent formulation was 30% alcohol and 10% PG), and I read on the solubility chart that someone uses aloe vera gel as a base - heat up the aloe, add BHA, stir for a couple hours

Has anyone tried this (aloe-based BHA)?

And also, I was thinking of still using 10% PG (to boost solubility) and 10% alcohol (as a preservative and to boost solubility; I don't mind a *little* bit of alcohol), should I add these to the aloe before heating? After? Is there anything bad about heating either of these ingredients?

So more or less a two-part question....

Thanks!

Hello!
I read that Ferulic Acid can stabilize L-ascorbic Acid, but I could't find that in what percentage should I use it. I mean how much Ferulic Acid should I put in how much L-ascorbic Acid to stabilize that?I just ordered it so I need to know, please.
Thank you soo much for your answer.

You would need to find out exactly what the molecular weight of the NaH in this product is.

We already sell NaH at 1 320 000 daltons, but maybe this product uses an even higher MW?

John is their anyway that you can get high molecular weight HA.

A hair loss company called
"Kevis’ patented HUCP is a high-molecular-weight version of hyaluronic acid and is our proven solution for fighting DHT, the primary cause of male-pattern hair loss"

Thank You
